ALL WIRED UP...........STILL!!!

This is how I first saw my sweet little Nephi.

It was so sad to see him so tiny amongst all that medical equipment. It was the first time I got to touch or see him. I had just barely learned that he had Down syndrome and that they were going to life flight him out to Primary Childrens Hospitol. That was how I was told about him being born with an oomphalocle (bowels outside the belly).
Next time I saw him he was all wired up on all kinds of equipment. Surgery to repair his belly was complete and it was now up to him to heal and grow!!

I think him being attached to a wire from the start gave him a start to having many wires since..............

From heart monitors for brady cardia (slow heart rate) to severe sleep apnea, to hypertension of the lungs. He is by his own nature a "wired" little boy with the switch turned to ON all the time. He is such an angel while he gets all the medical tests with the patience of Job, but any other time he is CONSTANTLY on the go!! He is quite the ball of energy!! Hence, wired up Then.....and wired up STILL!! I love that little boy and hope that he keeps going and going for many years!!!! Love ya Nephi!!

This is how he gets to sleep for the night for all of his sleep apnea tests!! In January 09 he even had a tongue reduction surgery to remove one third of the back of his tounge and he still has severe apnea!! So...he gets to sleep looking like a fireman without the hat of course!!

NOW, this sweet girl Carmela would let you do anything to her and love you even more.

She could definatly take Nephi!! We miss so much her sweet gentleness, but not the shedding hair, eating all the tomatillos, raspberries and apples off the tree she could reach!! She liked running off way to much for comfort too.
Getting the yard cleaned up was a challenge for the boys which didn't make dad none to happy when it came time to mowing lawn.
Not to mention ALL the destroyed flowers in my flower bed because she liked climbing in them to peer in the boys' bedroom window to snoop.
When she decided she wanted to sit on your lap because pico did that made for a lot of adventure of 'GET OFF NOW' from everyone.

King of the castle!!

This is Pico, the king of the castle, atleast he likes to think so!! He is tolerable of everyone except Nephi sometimes. But, he's the only one who gets in his face. Pico will make a little noise to let him know to back off, when he doesn't listen he nips without biting and then acts all innocent like nothing happend!! He loves to sit on your lap or a pillow. He really hates sitting on the hard floor and will sit on your legs, back or any other part he can lay on! He has a sweet disposition but he is rather cowardly atleast with other dogs. I think he actually forgot how to be a dog. He's a good member of the family and things wouldn't be the same without him!! Even the kids who gave us "BRING THAT DOG HOME AND I AM LEAVING " speech all love him and are his biggest spoilers!!

SHE'S BACK!!!!

She's back!! Lo and behold, She came back!! Let her self back in the yard and was happily waiting to be let in! Her name is Tika but maybe we need to change it to houdini.

I hope she doesn't make this a habit because it is a really bad one!!

WHAT TO DO, WHAT TO DO!!!!

That cute little dog who adopted us just ran off!! Do I chase or not to chase?!
I don't want her if she is going to be a runner, but I have already gotten her shots and she was schedualed to be fixed in the am. So....What to do, What to do!!!

Wish me luck that things will work out the best!!!

Long time no change!

For my blog that is!! Life has definately changed for me!! I've had several changes in fact. From having neck surgery to remove 3 discs and a tri level fusion, to adopting a sweet dog and having to return her due to running off, and then catching a dog who had run off who adopted us!! Both were females jus a lot different in size and hair!!
This beuatiful girl's name was Carmela! To bad we couldn't keep her. She had the most gentle personality, but liked to run and not come back.
